2013 - 2014 My job title is Literacy Intervention Teacher.
I work with Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade students. My Reading emphasis focuses on Phonics, Phonemic Awareness, Comprehension, Vocabulary, and Fluency. Writing includes constructing a coherent paragraph that includes a topic sentence, three detail sentences, and a conclusion.
The instruction given to the students is Differentiated Instruction, in a small group setting. This instruction addresses students' individual reading and writing needs, building upon their strengths.
The classroom teachers and I work in concert, to provide an environment for success. Meeting the Hot Springs District curriculum requirements is our goal.
During the year, I also test students new to our district, enrolling in our Kindergarten through Second Grade classes.
